(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and abuse, will ask for tough and effective worldwide sanctions against Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro in a marathon rally in Washington, D.C. beginning Tuesday. Joined by its clients and superstar Cuban entertainer Willy Chirino and his internationally famous singer wife Lissette Alvarez, Judicial Watch will denounce Castro?s recent wave of crimes against humanity and demand international sanctions against the prison island. Judicial Watch client Alina Fernandez, Castro?s estranged and wronged daughter, will also participate in addition to family members of Castro?s recent victims who are represented by Judicial Watch.
They include Yordanis Montoya Isaac, the sister of Jorge Luis Martinez Isaac, who was summarily executed earlier this month on the personal orders of Fidel Castro for attempting to flee the brutal Communist dictatorship on a ferry boat. Judicial also represents Isabel Roque, whose sister, Marta Beatriz Roque, a prominent Castro dissident, was recently sentenced to 25 years in prison and is currently serving her sentence alone in a dark cell, as well as Blanca Gonzalez, whose son, journalist Normando Hernandez Gonzalez, is serving a 25-year sentence. In all, 75 peaceful dissidents, most of them intellectuals and journalists, have been imprisoned for opposing Castro?s brutal Communist dictatorship. Even traditionally pro-Castro European governments have now turned against the Communist dictator.
Fidel Castro is a dangerous and ruthless dictator who has gone so far even many of his leftist friends have finally condemned him. It's now time that the world take action against this brutal regime that continues to terrorize innocent people. After Saddam, Castro should be next on the U.S. and worldwide hit list of dictators overdue for ?regime change?,? stated Larry Klayman, Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel.
