Political Command of the Revolution (CPR) aupremo, Guillermo Garcia Ponce says a fifth column inside Petroleos de Venezuela is targeting sensible areas, such as oil exports and the supply of gas to discredit the government at home and abroad.
“Recent terrorist attacks at PDVSA installations show that opposition agents still have important positions inside in the company and are capable of inflicting heavy damage to the young Venezuelan Revolution.”
Garcia Ponce claims that a network of terrorist cells are operating in PDVSA and State electricity companies, such as the Caroni Electricity Company (Edelca).
Pointing the finger at former PDVSA president Luis Giusti as leader, the veteran politician says the fifth column is trying to infiltrate into PDVSA the same people who damaged the company.
Hinting on future government targets, Garcia Ponce singles out Edelca and Metro Caracas board of directors for monitoring to void future destabilization efforts, such as blackouts and transport stoppages.
“The fifth column controls Edelca and Cadafe boards and has captured key positions in Guayana basic industries, treating them as feudal possessions.”
